Gameplay Designer for the Hogwarts Legacy

My Experience

I am a Game Designer working for Avalanche on Hogwarts Legacy for over 3+ years. Growing up, I loved playing games and it really helped me realize the passion I had for the gaming industry. Nothing makes me happier than creating worlds that people can enjoy for fun, draws them in, and gives them a reason to want to play games.

For Hogwarts Legacy I am a Gameplay & Level Designer for the Hogwarts castle and surrounding area. My job included being the main point of contact for all gameplay elements for Hogwarts Castle and providing direction and design focus for gameplay elements with the core design team.

Hogwarts Gameplay

I worked on the design elements, prototyping, created Blueprints (BP), and ensuring consistency for all the gameplay features within Hogwarts. Examples include Collectibles, Puzzles, and Explorative Gameplay within Hogwarts and around the castle .

Hogwarts Level Design

My role as one of the LD’s for Hogwarts included placement, implementation, and the distribution of gameplay objects within Hogwarts. I also worked with the render team, streaming tech, and NPC teams to help polish out the Hogwarts Castle. Some examples include Fast Travel, Map UI integration for Hogwarts, Lootable Containers, Knowledge Pages, Collectibles, Mission and Systemic Gating of Hogwarts, Polishing Collision, and other miscellaneous tasks.

World Event and Design Documents

While working on Hogwarts Legacy I was also one of the designers over the World Event System for Hogwarts and the Open World. I also created and maintained many of the design/QA documents for Hogwarts and assisted several of the Mission Teams within Hogwarts.
