The Gameplay Experience
Working on Hogwarts was a great experience and I had the pleasure to work with an exceptionally talented team of artists, LD’s, and programmers along with other people in the design team at Avalanche. Together we were able to deliver on the fan’s expectations for the “new Harry Potter Game” and made something we could all be truly proud of.
Because Hogwarts is such an amazing place I wanted to showcase a bit of the gameplay we worked so hard to achieve as well as give some better views of all the coolest places we worked on over the 6 years of the game’s development. All the gameplay seen in the video below was something that I was directly attributed to during development. Examples include the placement and distribution of all the Knowledge Pages in Hogwarts, the lootable containers, the collectibles (like the flying keys and Demiguise Statues), Alohomora locked doors (though I did not help with the unlocking minigame), etc. Along with the design and population of unique puzzles like the frog hopping puzzle and the systemic features like fast travel inside and around Hogwarts.

Here is a gallery that showcases the gameplay that I helped create within Hogwarts in a way that highlights how many things we managed to build within and around the Hogwarts Castle. Examples include the Arithmancy Doors, the little notes you can find in Hogwarts with little stories, Fast Travel Points in Hogwarts, the puzzle rooms like the Clock Tower and the Viaduct Bridge, the secret room behind the Map of Argyllshire, the Knowledge Objects within Hogwarts, the House Chests, the World Events, and the Spell Interactions like the Incendio Braziers and the Lumos Moth Frames. I worked on all of these collaboratively with the rest of the Hogwarts team to bring Hogwarts to life. Enjoy!
